New Species of Springtail for D & G
Found in my garden on the surface water of a small pond I discovered this Springtail (Dicyrtomina saundersi), which although not uncommon, happens to be a new species record for Dumfries and Galloway. I wonder how many other new species are waiting to be discovered in my own back yard...

One of My Sound Effects Used on BBC Reporting Scotland!
Whilst watching Reporting Scotland on Friday Night (19/08/2011), my local news broadcast on BBC One, I noticed one of my sound effects being used for the football roundup section - a booming sound punctuating some goals being scored!
Here's a link to the sound: Massive Booms / Drums / Cannons / Explosions Sound Effect

A Very Lost Mole
Not really sure what this mole was doing above ground but it was nice to see it, all the same. In the second picture - is it rolling around to get rid of parasites in the sunshine? Answers on a postcard...
