Red Haven (Reid Ha'en) near Auchencairn

Taking advantage of the sunshine I parked in Auchencairn took a walk past the first bird hide to a small bay called Red Haven (or Reid Ha'en), so named because of the lovely colour of the sand on the beach.

The bay also has great views of Heston Island.

Walking back from the bay there is a nice vista of the hills beyond and the sky had some interesting clouds too - which is a bonus.

Both these images use HDR techniques.

Looking back from Red Haven across a very green field and some stunning clouds.

Old Buittle Church

Visited Old Buittle Church for the first time and managed to get these atmospheric HDR shots of the West gable with the sun on it and stormy clouds in the background. More information about the old kirk can be found here: https://canmore.org.uk/site/64872/buittle-old-parish-church.

Bo'ness, Thomas the Tank Engine and Blackness Castle

Whilst staying in the Falkirk area I took a day out in Bo'ness and came across a special event at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Steam Railway where Thomas and Friends had arrived at the station. Got some nice shots and sound recordings of the engines. Visited Blackness Castle after for a few quick shots.

Viaduct Over the River Spey and Deer Abbey

Viaduct near the Spey Bay and Garmouth. More experimentation with black and white and dodging and burning.

Decided to experiment with a bit of dodging and burning with this photo of Deer Abbey in Aberdeenshire.
